The Energy Efficiency Standards for Residential and Nonresidential Buildings, were created by the California Building Standards Commission in 1978 in response to a legislative mandate to reduce California’s energy consumption. The standards are updated periodically (roughly 3-4 years) by the California Energy Commission to allow consideration and possible incorporation of new energy efficiency technologies and methods.

As the Standards have evolved to require more efficient buildings, the Standards have become more complex as well.  Energy Code Services will take care of all of the complexities and will help you design the home or addition that meet the home owner’s energy efficiency goals.
